Consultant is an ex Food Inspector who then worked for a large food operation in the UK (RHM) as a Quality Control Manager, Miller, Group Quality Assurance Manager and Senior Scientist over a period from 1971 to 1985. Following a corporate restructuring the consultant moved to South Africa to join the Wheat Board Technical Services that supported the national wheat industry from ‘farm to fork’. Having introduced technologies such as NIR and Electrophoresis he then led the team in establishing an ISO 17025 laboratory for some selected parameters in 1995 [this laboratory still functions today with a much expanded scope of accreditation].

Following the closure of all the Control Boards in 1997 the consultant went into private practice and offers a variety of services to a global client base in areas such as food fortification, laboratory best practices, development of legislative tools, regulatory monitoring and food safety
