Dr Thivi Maruthappu
Dr Thivi Maruthappu MA(Oxon) MRCP PhD is a Consultant Dermatologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Royal London Hospital and Queen Mary, University of London.
She has also trained in Nutrition Science and is passionate about a holistic approach to Dermatology, considering aspects of diet and lifestyle that can contribute to inflammatory skin conditions. She is a recognized expert on the role of Nutrition in Dermatology and has lectured nationally on this topic. She Co-Leads the Severe Eczema and Psoriasis Service at the Royal London and is an accomplished academic. She completed a post-CCT fellowship in Medical Dermatology at St John's Institute of Dermatology and an MRC funded PhD Clinical Research Training Fellowship which led to several high profile publications. She is the recipient of numerous academic awards and prizes including from the British Association of Dermatologists, Royal Society of Medicine and British Society for Dermatology Research. As a spokesperson for the British Skin Foundation she is frequently featured in the media and she also sits on Advisory Boards for global pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies.
