Professor Mairead Kiely

Professor Mairead Kiely is a nutrition scientist and Head of the School of Food and Nutritional Sciences at University College Cork, Ireland. Her research is mainly in micronutrients, in particular vitamin D, and in maternal and child nutrition. She is co-director of the Cork Centre for Vitamin D and Nutrition Research and is a PI at the INFANT research centre for maternal and child health.

Mairead has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers and several international reports. She is a member of the UK Scientific Advisory Committee for Nutrition (SACN) as well as the SACN subgroup on Maternal and Child Nutrition and currently chairs the Irish Section of the Nutrition Society.
