This webinar is designed to provide practical advice for early-career nutritionists who may be interested in working in or with the food industry. The focus is on gaining a deeper understanding of the commercial context and the various roles nutritionists can play in the industry, approaches to engaging in academic–industry research collaborations, and strategies for fostering credible, principled, and effective working relationships.
The benefits and risks of working with industry are acknowledged, including concerns around conflicts of interest and research integrity. The webinar will also cover warning signs to look out for, as well as practical “Do” and “Do Not” tips, based on Dr David Mela’s experiences as an academic and industry researcher, and as an advisor to academic–industry collaborative projects.
