There’s a growing body of evidence exploring the role of beef in cognition and brain health. Beef offers important nutrients for brain function like vitamins B12 and B6, protein, zinc, selenium, iron and choline. Recently, the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) published a report highlighting the role of animal foods, like meat, eggs and milk, in contributing important nutrients for health outcomes across life stages, including cognition. Join Dr Stephen Fleming as he assesses and visually illustrates the scientific evidence on beef consumption and cognition. This webinar highlights the heterogeneity of the research and explores why nutritional neuroscience is in its early stages in identifying the role that beef and red meat play in cognitive development.
What will I gain from this webinar?
- Learn how to critically assess the quality of studies on dietary patterns on cognition and understand why the tool used to measure cognition is of supreme importance, no matter what the nutritional question is
- Understand the reliability of food frequency questionnaires and food recalls
- Learn how to use interactive visualisation of reviews to gain a deeper understanding.
